A modern operating system for office use
Windows 7 Home Premium offers an easy and attractive platform with not-so-demanding hardware requirements. The system can be customized to your liking, be it about design or functionality. It offers a wide range of pre-installed applications for accessing various media and networking. All functions are tailored for regular computer users, making all network, security and computer maintenance settings really simple.
Tailored for every user
With the “Fast switching of users’ accounts” function you can easily switch between individual accounts without the need for logout. Thanks to this, you can keep all your programmes running, windows open or work unfinished and go, for example, shopping. Meanwhile other users can easily use the computer on their accounts and when you get back, you just continue your work where you left.
Ready for everything
Windows 7 Home Premium offers you all you ever wanted in a simple and user-friendly manner. At your disposal are programmes like Windows Media Player for playing music and videos, picture explorer, Internet Explored and even a pack of card and logical games. The system also offers a wide range of possibilities to customize your account – the user’s icon, desktop wallpaper, screensaver, sounds and more.
Advanced backup = no troubles
The “Backup and restore” function allows you not to worry about your apps and data. Simply set an automatic data backup on an external medium or network device and just keep on working. In case of disk failure the system will perform a recovery from the chosen medium and you can continue easily you work.
Home group – share your files
In Windows 7, you can easily share your documents, music, videos, photos or even printers with anyone you want. The system allows you to choose what will be shared and what will stay private or read-only. Are you afraid of losing your data? Do not be – just set a password for the home group and your shared data can be accessed only by those, who you give the password to.

I have used Windows XP since it first became available and found it to be a stable and very excellent operating system. I am running this on my desk top PC and shall continue to do so as long as possible. I now have alaptop PC running Windows 7 Premium and I am very impressed with 7, I find it very stable and organised and user friendly. particularly under the ‘computer’ functions and accessibility and set up. I am still in the learning stage on it in familiarising myself. Up to now very satisfied.

I ordered this at a good price in May 2011 at under £89 and I have been very pleased with it.I bought the full version because I have upgraded an old computer from Windows XP and if this should not work or I wish to buy a newer model without an operating system at a later stage I will be able to use it on the new machine.Windows 7 does everything I want it to and although a little more expensive than an OEM version it is worth it just for peace of mind.

This is a definate improvement on XP or Vista. Bill Gates has finally got it right. Very user friendly

Context of my feedback: I bought vista 3 years ago. It was a carnage from the begining: installation failed, confusion with other disks with XP, total breakdown after an automatic upgrade etc…ended up returning to XP afer a few months of horror.I decided to go for Win7 since many people raved about it around me (I am an IT director by the way).I cleaned my PC, formated a disk, prepared everything to make it as simple as possible for the installation to go right and guess what happened: installation crashed, Windows media stopped working after 10 minutes, flash player didn’t work, crash of the installation of new driver on the video card, crahes after crahes. At that point I seriously told my wife I would never ever by a MS OS anymore and would switch to Mac and I will probably stick to that.Since then and many automatic upgrades after it seems to be reasonably stable but clearly, the product as it stands on the DVD is full of bugs and considering it is kind of the second time I bought it (since I bought Vista) this is just appauling and no-one in the IT professional sector would get away with it, but we are just consumers and we have little options. So 2 stars because there is nothing special to the product and even after the Vista carnage, they can’t get it right. Please bear in mind I am not anti MS, I am just a regular guy who just asks for a stable OS.If you are at crossroad and hesitate between Windows and MAC OS, I advise you go MAC unless you have special needs to Windows applications.

To begin with, I enjoyed using Windows 7, but perhaps inevitably, small niggles began to creep in, and nowadays I’m not quite so sure. The big advantages of Windows 7, as others have remarked, are its superior speed and stability – and on the cosmetics side of things, it’s easy to make it look very nice indeed. But problems nevertheless remain.I’m a keen photography enthusiast, and like all other digital camera owners, I rely on being able to load my photos directly and quickly from the camera to the computer – a task that in Windows 7 is handled by a built-in Microsoft utility called AutoPlay. Two days ago, AutoPlay suddenly stopped working on my computer and consequently I couldn’t transfer my photos via the camera’s USB cable in the usual way. I spent ages trying to overcome the problem, and even resorted for a while to loading the photos directly from the camera’s memory card – fortunately my computer has a memory card port. It then occurred to me that approximately at the time of the collapse of AutoPlay, I had uninstalled the W7-compatible shareware application Media Monkey. I re-installed the app and lo! AutoPlay began working again. When I investigated via the Internet, I found that the sudden disappearance of AutoPlay is a fairly common problem – in fact it’s a highly irritating glitch that Windows 7 seems to have inherited from Vista. Internet forums offer all kinds of complicated and sometimes barely comprehensible solutions devised by advanced computer geeks, but Microsoft doesn’t seem to take the problem all that seriously, and its advice, such as it is, certainly didn’t work for me.It may seem perverse of me to devote all this time banging on about a single problem that may not affect lots of Windows 7 users, but the fact is that this seemingly mundane incident has seriously dented my confidence in the operating system as a whole. I now use other allegedly W7-compatible applications in fear and trembling lest they too suddenly and inexplicably give up the ghost. Sadly, I’m forced to conclude that Windows 7 is not really the breakthrough that it’s sometimes made out to be, but is just another Microsoft operating system, albeit one that is somewhat faster and more stable than its predecessors.

I had been running Vista on my laptop that came pre installed. After the years warranty had expired, I decided to clear out all the pre installed programs, and start fresh with 7.This also meant I could run 64bit to make use of the 4Gig of RAM.Thirdly, I was looking for power saving which I was informed 7 offers over Vista, it does indeed run easier on my processor, and non active screen dimming etc all help when I am running on batteries.Overall 7 is simple to use, much the same as Vista, some nice extra features, though I am sure there are lots I have not used. The only problems I had was finding all the drivers for my hardware, but bit by bit I have got there.I would recommend this to anyone with XP or Vista

I haven’t received this item it was predicted that i would recive it on Friday 8th June. i allowed longer for bank holiday but still haven’t recieved anything please advise

I planned at the start of the year to wait until Autumn at the earliest to upgrade to Windows 7 as I felt that for all its new features a new PC would be required. However, due to a nasty virus, which couldn’t be fixed with a simple XP repair, and the mislaying of the Win98 disc needed to reinstall my XP upgrade version, I had no choice but to format and go ahead with purchasing it earlier than expected for my almost 4 year old Dell Dimension Pentium 4.I was fully aware that due to having no graphics adapter other than the one provided onboard by Intel and the lack of a requisite slot for simply buying a new one that Windows Aero would be out of the question; yet as I still plan on buying a new PC later in the year, having to wait a little longer to use this feature didn’t especially bother me.As someone who has never used Vista, I can only compare it to XP and the difference for me is enough to feel very happy with the ever costly endeavour of upgrading. I’m also pleased that when I finally do buy a new system, I won’t have to pay yet again for the 64-bit version.

This is the best OS from microsoft yet. The only drawback is that they did not include outlook express or make it compatable with os 7. They are trying to make you use Windows Live so if you don’t want to use Windows Live (I don’t) you have to find another e-mail client. This is why I only give it a “four star rating”. Fortunately there are plenty e-mail clients out there. Outlook does work with os7 as does Incredimail.
Hotmelt –
got this to improve my gaming experience and glad i did too as i get windows 10 for free soon.win 64 system allows for use of more pc memory which is essential for high end gaming
Adrian Mallon –
Well, it’s easy to install and it works. I can’t fault it. I was too nervous to install Windows 8 on my new build but Windows 7 seems solid.
James W –
upgraded from Vista to window 7 and it has made a big difference in how the pc works .great
Laura Castro Espinoza –
Super quick shipping, great communication and everything worked exactly as promised and like a genuine MS. There is no difference, except you won’t have the fancy packaging. Brilliant.
Mike Rignall –
Windows 7 extended support end in January next year (2020). You would have to be crazy to buy this! Get windows 10!
April Boyer –
Admittedly, it only just works if all your computers are running windows 7, but still. Example: I tried for months to find a way to get our house computers to all print to a printer on one of them, but no matter what I tried, I couldn’t do it (1 with XP and two with Vista). I upgraded my desktop and then got a new Win7 laptop, and as soon as I joined the homegroup when setting up the laptop, it already had the printer installed and set to default. I didn’t have to do anything! Everything I’ve used it for is great, and don’t worry about older programs working with Home Premium. Everything I’ve installed from my old computers has worked fine so far.

My experience falls under the category of naive buyer beware. While I did a fresh install on an existing drive (MacBook), I was ignorant of the fact I was not buying a retail product. I had searched on Windows 7 at the keyforrest retail site. I did not understand what I read. My mistake, not that of OutletPC.From the vendor:System Builder (OEM) cannot be used to validate an existing copy of Windows, or to upgrade from another Operating System. You have to do a fresh install on a new computer, or format the Hard Drive on an existing system, then reload the Operating System from scratch. From the ManufacturerUse of this OEM System Builder Channel software is subject to the terms of the Microsoft OEM System Builder License. This software is intended for pre-installation on a new personal computer for resale. This OEM System Builder Channel software requires the assembler to provide end user support for the Windows software and cannot be transferred to another computer once it is installed. To acquire Windows software with support provided by Microsoft please see our full package “Retail” product offerings.
William Dobbins –
leave it up to microsoft to sell an os for a fraction of what the office software costs…I like Windows 7, windows 8 sucks unless you use something like classic shell to get the feel of 7 but whatever…I get pissed when the software costs so much. In fact I just bought windows XP Pro 4 years ago and I am pissed that this will be the last year Microsoft plans to support it. I like xp better because of the customization ability like TinyOs, and such…anyway, this is 7 whatever…if you need an os 7 is best, and keyforrest has the best price.
Catfishsushi –
With the System builder kit you have full support from Microsoft for this product. 64 bit computing is much faster and smoother than a 32bit, that is, you can utilise ALL of your system’s RAM for your OS, not just a fraction. The features are just what you’d need for gaming and surfing the Internet.

Fixed all the problems with Vista and has great driver support with windows update. Interface is far easier to use than 8 which is a nightmare.
Boo –
By far a better program than Vista & XP. Easier to use and more user friendly. My next adventure will be a ultrabook with Windows 8
DanShaw –
It works, didn’t solve some computer problems I was having. This review doesn’t really matter since Win 7 is outdated.
Neal –
I did have some issues initially getting online because I couldnt use my wireless card, bit worked fine with ethernet. So far, no other isdues with this copy of windows. It is OEM, but that is why its cheaper.
Kris Olson –
Worked exactly as I needed. Needs your typical updates but they come automatically if you don’t want to keep updating and searching for the updates.
Hank –
Helped restore a crashed Hard Drive
karaste –
I purchased this operating system to upgrade a laptop that was running XP. Installation was very simple. The program located all the laptops drivers and runs without a hitch.
Ms Smith –
Great!
Johnny –
It does the job.
James D. Lundeen –
Actually, the purchase was my mistake. I ordered and received Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit. What I need for my computer is the same Windows 7 32 bit. Is there a way I can exchange the 64 bit for a 32 bit version of Windows 7? Please advise.
Brian –
Total breeze to set up and my machine runs like a champ! Long overdue upgrade from XP, debated between 7 and 8 for a while. Could not be happier!
rdp2011 –
Easy as 1-2-3 install was very simple and no computer maker pop-ups. This full system is what I needed. A little pricey but Microsoft needs the money right ???
DTT –
The ability to run windows on a Mac is great. It’s like getting the best of both worlds. Shipping was quick and the price is very reasonable. I’m very satisfied with purchasing Windows 7 from keyforrest.

I have the latest macbook pro with the latest snow leopard OS. I purchased both the latest parallels along with the above described version of windows 7 from keyforrest. The advertisement via keyforrest on this version didn’t mention that it is an OEM version and that you cannot get support help from microsoft. The problem I encountered was the downloaded McAfee virus software that would not install on my computer. I spent two hours on line with the parallel troubleshooter representative to no avail. They even took admin control of my computer. They determined that the problem was with the windows desktop software and they suggested that I contact microsoft for help. I did call microsoft and they informed me that they don’t provide support for the OEM version. I just waisted $99 and have lost confidence in both keyforrest and microsoft!!
T.Bishop –
Installed with no problem. Good quality
keyforrest Customer –
A much better OS than the ‘Vista’ that it replaced, installation was easier than anticipated. Most impressive was the free delivery I was expecting it to take around 5 days, it arrived in just 2 days – well done keyforrest.
ric –
Delivery was prompt. As for the os. Well its microsoft what else can you say. Im just glad they came out with some thing better than vista!!!
marco castagnetti –
There are plenty of fake windows service packs on the market for a cheaper price but ask yourself is it worth damaging your computer to save yourself the little extra cash.?.
Jimmy cooper –
Does what it says on the packet. Installs windows 7 but I have moved on to windows 8 and I would recommend windows 8 if im honest
Grant –
It’s a disk and has on it what it says it does. It works. In that respect it’s great. It also got delivered quite quickly, so that’s good too.
Chris Buse –
BUT, I called keyforrest, I sent the one I had back and they sent me another one and we were both happy, I was real happy with the excellent customer service…again. product installed no problems or incompatibilities. So, it was a great experience….it was as if Microsoft wasn’t involved anywhere in the transaction…and that is VERY good
Justin –
I’m not a fan of Windows 8. This is still the best main stream OS on the market that runs the software I need day to day. It came with the disk and key.
R. Mazzeo –
Hard to “rate” a software purchase when I knew exactly what I was getting & how it would perform. Needless to say (but I’m saying it anyway), worked as expected.
Beri –
I’ve been a WinXP user for years. I wanted to upgrade, and after trying Vista, 7 and 8…this version is by far better choice.
Gypsycat –
Here’s my opinion… If I were to describe Windows 7 I would say it is the most fastest, stable, user friendly experience ever made for a windows. I’ve had 2 experiences windows 7 first one was on my old Pentium 4 computer that I’ve been using for 3 years now and its never gotten a virus, to be honest with you I personally think Microsoft finally mastered windows. Then I was so satisfied I got windows again for new gaming desktop. Here’s what windows is good at:If you’re into customization, gaming, internet browsing, entertainment, business use, or want something that will last 3-8 years then windows 7 is perfect for you.If you want something that’s overpriced by 100’s of dollars, paranoid about viruses, only good for video editing, and want something that gets outdated in 6 monthsthen buy a mac.(this scale should help you decide)Pros: very, very nice yet affordablecons: you can’t upgrade your motherboard, and one minor thing… it didn’t come with a windows 7 sticker!!!And Thanks for reading… Hope you enjoyed my review! 🙂

Could not use it as it would not install on a system that came with Win 8 Web search said many people had this same problem, it would just hang during the installation. Installed Umbutu operating system instead. Will sell this to whom ever.

Invalid disc. Apparently, an Upgrade disc; No Product Key; No COA provided.First of all, I have talked with a supervisor at keyforrest — and asked her to take appropriate action. She has agreed to do so. I would advise not ordering this item until the issue is corrected and the inventory is culled of all illegitimate copies. While there have been many happy customers, a few of us have received invalid or counterfeit copies of this software. I counted 12 reviews indicating `counterfeit’ so I figure around 2 percent or less. This package arrived like a wine bottle filled with water rather than wine. The exterior printing and packaging looked legit. Also, the User’s Guide on the inside showed quality printing. However, the disc was upside down with the printed side facing downwards and the recording side facing upwards. There was no Product Key nor COA (Certificate of Authenticity) included. The disc also had faint lines on the recording side that were similar to the water marks that some fabrics will show when they get partially wet. The printing (label) on the disc was Black and White with no other colors used. The disc, near the center is marked, in the plastic, “Made in Puerto Rico” and either “X17-58399(M04W)14” or “X17-58399(Mo4W)14”. The printing on the label shows “6/11 X17-03404-02”. So, the two numbers do not agree.I proceeded with installing the software to a newly formatted disk to see what would happen. I got the error message, “Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate and existing system partition. Set the setup log files for more information.” So, the included disc was apparently an Upgrade Disc rather that an OEM or System Builder disk.I then created a system partition with an XP disc and tried again. The install then proceeded to the point where it asked me to enter the Product Key.So, it appears that someone gained access to a legitimate Windows 7 package, removed the disc and the Product Key and the COA and then inserted a copy of an upgrade disc. But, it is hard to know exactly what occurred. They pirates could have just replaced the original disc with a blank disc – or with nothing. But, I guess they wanted to try to confuse the user, and perhaps the supplier as well, by making the switch look like something other than a theft.I build my own systems so I like the idea of being able to purchase a Systems Builder disk at a discount. I don’t need any hand holding nor support unless a program has a bug. And, I would rather not pay for support that I don’t need. So, I am hopping that keyforrest gets the supply chain cleaned up and can continue to offer the System Builder discs with full confidence that the package is legitimate. In the meanwhile, I will have to look to a couple of other sources. Unfortunately at least one customer has reported a counterfeit disc at one of the alternate sources.

This product should be used for more that one computer in the household, been as it is the full vision and cost so much money.
J. Bligdon –
I would have thought that any operating system worth half its salt, would come with an email programme built in. Who would dream of providing an OS, when its single most important function is missing. Trying to find the Vista mail to download, is like a chapter from a Dan Brown book; each link leads you down a blind alley. I have not really noticed any great improvement in speed, although there are some nice images for the desktop. I am already looking forward to the service pack being released. This programme is far too basic for the vast majority of PC users and Microsoft have once again provided an over-hyped OS that does not come close.
WRETCHED –
I installed this with no problem and then activated with no problem. I did read reviews saying that activation would be a problem if I had to replace my motherboard and processor as the serial number is linked to the motherboard on activation. I will only find this out when I have to upgrade again but for now it works great.
Justin Gross –
Remember that OEM means you get the disc and once you activate it stays with that one motherboard. Windows 7 is the only OS i use and is great for computer gamers.
Jonathon Kobyluck –
I encountered no problems when using Boot Camp to enable my Mac to boot natively to Windows 7. It runs flawlessly!
