I have read other reviews that say this is the product that Windows 8 should have been. I can see no reason why customers should pay for a new version of a product due to the failure of a previous version. Most of the problems with Win 8 were easily fixed with simple changes such as classic shell. Many people have said that Windows 10 was free to those who ran Win 7/8. That’s not really true. If you owned a full copy of Win 7/8 then the license you got with the “free” upgrade is only valid for the life of the PC it is installed on. In other words, you got an OEM version instead of a full version. They didn’t make that clear and even Microsoft support seem confused as to what the license really means.In my view Windows 10 added a whole host of things I don’t want and removed things I did want. I don’t personally want to talk to my computer and I certainly don’t want it to talk back. I also don’t want Bing and Edge. However, what I do want is for my current hardware and software to work. I want my TV Satellite card to work with Media Center, but they got rid of that. There is other software that can be used but I found Media Center the most reliable. I want my scanner and other hardware to just work.What I also want is an operating system that respects my privacy, allows me to choose which updates to install and does not show me adverts.What I also want is an operating system that allows me to purchase upgraded hardware without requiring me to upgrade the operating system to a version that spies on me and removes features I want. Microsoft has stated that users who buy Skylake/Kabylake processors must use Win 10 as Win 7/8 won’t work. In other words, PC builders cannot upgrade their processor and stay with the same software. Maybe that doesn’t matter to you right now, but what about next time?I now have lost the little confidence that I had in Microsoft. I would personally be happy paying for operating system upgrades that respects that the user knows best what is right for them. I am not happy paying for upgrades that regard the user as merely a way of Microsoft making money. The “free” upgrade is just a con to transfer the way you pay to paying with your privacy and having adverts inflicted on your desktop.Microsoft has now announced that all Win 7/8 users should upgrade to Win 10 because Win 7/8 are insecure. It is free. It is stable. It is easy to use. It doesn’t advertise to the user. I can see no reason to use Windows unless you are stuck with Windows software. Even if that is the case I would just install Virtualbox under Linux Mint and run the windows software as a virtual PC. Don’t let the virtual machine have access to the internet and the windows security issues simply don’t matter.I have read reviews that say that Win 10 is quick to install. This is true, until you take into account the amount of time that it takes to install all of your applications. I install my applications on a separate hard drive to the Windows drive. It seems obvious to do this. For some reason Microsoft moved to the dreaded registry some years ago. That was a stupid idea, but if they were going to do it, then it seems obvious that there should be a registry for the operating system and another one for applications. That way the application registry could also sit on the application hard drive and a re-install of Windows would not require a re-install of all the applications. With Win 10 it took me over 2 weeks to do an install all my applications and the system still does not work how I want it to. Each application needs to be customised and loads of third party utilities need to be installed just to make Windows work as I want it to.With Linux Mint it took 20 minutes to install and that included a full office suite, Firefox, Thunderbird email client and loads of other applications. All of that is free and painless. When I want to install other applications I just type in the name of the application and Mint installs it. No pain. No hassle.Win 10 maybe what Win 8 should have been but it is not even vaguely what a descent operating system should be.

Windows 10 is the latest operating system Microsoft currently sell as of 2019 and it runs well on new computers but if you are coming from windows 7, vista even Xp you may have trouble getting all your programs to run well on the windows 10 operating system if you are on older firmwares then check it will run with windows 10 if your computer is old don’t upgrade because it makes a laptop of old age unbearable Tip: if you are running windows 7 home basic and upgrade to windows 10 pro it will erase your system if your running windows 7 pro and upgrade to windows 10 pro you can keep your stuff vice versa with home operating systems if you are looking for a laptop that is quite old than maybe consider upgrading or consider upgrading the ram and changing to an ssd before installing windows 10

The product came in good packaging. The product seems original and of good quality and I believe it is a genuine product from Microsoft because it was well sealed and looked genuine. But when I tried to activate the Windows 10 pro using the product key that came with it, it said you don’t have a valid product key or digital license and cannot activate.I was very worried and contacted support team. They sent a replacement key and activated my windows through anydesk. I appreciate the fact that I got a good support.I wonder why the key that came with it doesn’t work… Anyway I’m happy because atleast I got my windows activated.

Very pleased. No problems installing onto my new M.2 drive. Was a little worried initially because of the negative reviews, but I’ve purchased reconditioned disks from this distributor previously and have never had an issue. Amazing bargain considering how much you have to pay for a version direct from Microsoft.I actually purchased a Home edition from the same distributor a week previous to this one and then saw this a few quid cheaper than the home edition. Was considering returning the home edition, but the price was so cheap I’ve kept it as a backup for when I build another computer.I had no problem installing the operating system. So long as you install to a clean disk it will work firs time. you cannot install an OEM disk on a HDD or SSD that has been previously used unless to format the disk first. If there are any signs of a previous windows installation the install will fail as this is an OEM builders version.

Been running Windows 7 for years and was concerned that it was no longer supported. I was reluctant to upgrade to Windows 10 as there have been lots of bad reports, and I was worried about doing the upgrade myself. No worries – simply insert the disc and it over-writes Windows 7, no need to do anything else. Important to click “save files and data” and Windows 10 even runs my existing software. Wonderful!
