I have used Windows XP since it first became available and found it to be a stable and very excellent operating system. I am running this on my desk top PC and shall continue to do so as long as possible. I now have alaptop PC running Windows 7 Premium and I am very impressed with 7, I find it very stable and organised and user friendly. particularly under the ‘computer’ functions and accessibility and set up. I am still in the learning stage on it in familiarising myself. Up to now very satisfied.

I ordered this at a good price in May 2011 at under £89 and I have been very pleased with it.I bought the full version because I have upgraded an old computer from Windows XP and if this should not work or I wish to buy a newer model without an operating system at a later stage I will be able to use it on the new machine.Windows 7 does everything I want it to and although a little more expensive than an OEM version it is worth it just for peace of mind.

To begin with, I enjoyed using Windows 7, but perhaps inevitably, small niggles began to creep in, and nowadays I’m not quite so sure. The big advantages of Windows 7, as others have remarked, are its superior speed and stability – and on the cosmetics side of things, it’s easy to make it look very nice indeed. But problems nevertheless remain.I’m a keen photography enthusiast, and like all other digital camera owners, I rely on being able to load my photos directly and quickly from the camera to the computer – a task that in Windows 7 is handled by a built-in Microsoft utility called AutoPlay.Two days ago, AutoPlay suddenly stopped working on my computer and consequently I couldn’t transfer my photos via the camera’s USB cable in the usual way. I spent ages trying to overcome the problem, and even resorted for a while to loading the photos directly from the camera’s memory card – fortunately my computer has a memory card port. It then occurred to me that approximately at the time of the collapse of AutoPlay, I had uninstalled the W7-compatible shareware application Media Monkey. I re-installed the app and lo! AutoPlay began working again.When I investigated via the Internet, I found that the sudden disappearance of AutoPlay is a fairly common problem – in fact it’s a highly irritating glitch that Windows 7 seems to have inherited from Vista. Internet forums offer all kinds of complicated and sometimes barely comprehensible solutions devised by advanced computer geeks, but Microsoft doesn’t seem to take the problem all that seriously, and its advice, such as it is, certainly didn’t work for me.It may seem perverse of me to devote all this time banging on about a single problem that may not affect lots of Windows 7 users, but the fact is that this seemingly mundane incident has seriously dented my confidence in the operating system as a whole. I now use other allegedly W7-compatible applications in fear and trembling lest they too suddenly and inexplicably give up the ghost. I had been running Vista on my laptop that came pre installed.After the years warranty had expired, I decided to clear out all the pre installed programs, and start fresh with 7.This also meant I could run 64bit to make use of the 4Gig of RAM.Thirdly, I was looking for power saving which I was informed 7 offers over Vista, it does indeed run easier on my processor, and non active screen dimming etc all help when I am running on batteries.Overall 7 is simple to use, much the same as Vista, some nice extra features, though I am sure there are lots I have not used.The only problems I had was finding all the drivers for my hardware, but bit by bit I have got there.I would recommend this to anyone with XP or Vista

I planned at the start of the year to wait until Autumn at the earliest to upgrade to Windows 7 as I felt that for all its new features a new PC would be required. However, due to a nasty virus, which couldn’t be fixed with a simple XP repair, and the mislaying of the Win98 disc needed to reinstall my XP upgrade version, I had no choice but to format and go ahead with purchasing it earlier than expected for my almost 4 year old Dell Dimension Pentium 4.I was fully aware that due to having no graphics adapter other than the one provided onboard by Intel and the lack of a requisite slot for simply buying a new one that Windows Aero would be out of the question; yet as I still plan on buying a new PC later in the year, having to wait a little longer to use this feature didn’t especially bother me.As someone who has never used Vista, I can only compare it to XP and the difference for me is enough to feel very happy with the ever costly endeavour of upgrading. I’m also pleased that when I finally do buy a new system, I won’t have to pay yet again for the 64-bit version.

This is the best OS from microsoft yet. The only drawback is that they did not include outlook express or make it compatable with os 7. They are trying to make you use Windows Live so if you don’t want to use Windows Live (I don’t) you have to find another e-mail client. This is why I only give it a “four star rating”. Fortunately there are plenty e-mail clients out there. Outlook does work with os7 as does Incredimail.

Admittedly, it only just works if all your computers are running windows 7, but still. Example: I tried for months to find a way to get our house computers to all print to a printer on one of them, but no matter what I tried, I couldn’t do it (1 with XP and two with Vista). I upgraded my desktop and then got a new Win7 laptop, and as soon as I joined the homegroup when setting up the laptop, it already had the printer installed and set to default. I didn’t have to do anything! Everything I’ve used it for is great, and don’t worry about older programs working with Home Premium. Everything I’ve installed from my old computers has worked fine so far.

My experience falls under the category of naive buyer beware.While I did a fresh install on an existing drive (MacBook), I was ignorant of the fact I was not buying a retail product. I had searched on Windows 7 at the keyforrest retail site. I did not understand what I read. My mistake, not that of OutletPC.From the vendor:System Builder (OEM) cannot be used to validate an existing copy of Windows, or to upgrade from another Operating System. leave it up to microsoft to sell an os for a fraction of what the office software costs…I like Windows 7, windows 8 sucks unless you use something like classic shell to get the feel of 7 but whatever…I get pissed when the software costs so much. In fact I just bought windows XP Pro 4 years ago and I am pissed that this will be the last year Microsoft plans to support it. I like xp better because of the customization ability like TinyOs, and such…anyway, this is 7 whatever…if you need an os 7 is best, and keyforrest has the best price.

With the System builder kit you have full support from Microsoft for this product. 64 bit computing is much faster and smoother than a 32bit, that is, you can utilise ALL of your system’s RAM for your OS, not just a fraction. The features are just what you’d need for gaming and surfing the Internet.

I have the latest macbook pro with the latest snow leopard OS. I purchased both the latest parallels along with the above described version of windows 7 from keyforrest. The advertisement via keyforrest on this version didn’t mention that it is an OEM version and that you cannot get support help from microsoft. The problem I encountered was the downloaded McAfee virus software that would not install on my computer. I spent two hours on line with the parallel troubleshooter representative to no avail. They even took admin control of my computer. They determined that the problem was with the windows desktop software and they suggested that I contact microsoft for help. I did call microsoft and they informed me that they don’t provide support for the OEM version. I just waisted $99 and have lost confidence in both keyforrest and microsoft!!

Here’s my opinion… If I were to describe Windows 7 I would say it is the most fastest, stable, user friendly experience ever made for a windows. I’ve had 2 experiences windows 7 first one was on my old Pentium 4 computer that I’ve been using for 3 years now and its never gotten a virus, to be honest with you I personally think Microsoft finally mastered windows. Then I was so satisfied I got windows again for new gaming desktop. Invalid disc. Apparently, an Upgrade disc; No Product Key; No COA provided.First of all, I have talked with a supervisor at keyforrest — and asked her to take appropriate action. She has agreed to do so. I would advise not ordering this item until the issue is corrected and the inventory is culled of all illegitimate copies.While there have been many happy customers, a few of us have received invalid or counterfeit copies of this software. I counted 12 reviews indicating `counterfeit’ so I figure around 2 percent or less.This package arrived like a wine bottle filled with water rather than wine. The exterior printing and packaging looked legit. Also, the User’s Guide on the inside showed quality printing. However, the disc was upside down with the printed side facing downwards and the recording side facing upwards. There was no Product Key nor COA (Certificate of Authenticity) included. The disc also had faint lines on the recording side that were similar to the water marks that some fabrics will show when they get partially wet. The printing (label) on the disc was Black and White with no other colors used. The disc, near the center is marked, in the plastic, “Made in Puerto Rico” and either “X17-58399(M04W)14” or “X17-58399(Mo4W)14”. The printing on the label shows “6/11 X17-03404-02”. So, the two numbers do not agree.I proceeded with installing the software to a newly formatted disk to see what would happen. I got the error message, “Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate and existing system partition. Set the setup log files for more information.” So, the included disc was apparently an Upgrade Disc rather that an OEM or System Builder disk.I then created a system partition with an XP disc and tried again. The install then proceeded to the point where it asked me to enter the Product Key.So, it appears that someone gained access to a legitimate Windows 7 package, removed the disc and the Product Key and the COA and then inserted a copy of an upgrade disc. But, it is hard to know exactly what occurred. They pirates could have just replaced the original disc with a blank disc – or with nothing. But, I guess they wanted to try to confuse the user, and perhaps the supplier as well, by making the switch look like something other than a theft.I build my own systems so I like the idea of being able to purchase a Systems Builder disk at a discount. I don’t need any hand holding nor support unless a program has a bug. And, I would rather not pay for support that I don’t need. So, I am hopping that keyforrest gets the supply chain cleaned up and can continue to offer the System Builder discs with full confidence that the package is legitimate. In the meanwhile, I will have to look to a couple of other sources. Unfortunately at least one customer has reported a counterfeit disc at one of the alternate sources.

I installed this with no problem and then activated with no problem. I did read reviews saying that activation would be a problem if I had to replace my motherboard and processor as the serial number is linked to the motherboard on activation. I will only find this out when I have to upgrade again but for now it works great.

Remember that OEM means you get the disc and once you activate it stays with that one motherboard. Windows 7 is the only OS i use and is great for computer gamers.

Purchased this software to upgrade our older HP Laptop’s OS from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium. No problems with the installation, everything went very smoothly and Windows 7 is a joy to use after the dreadful Vista. Would recommend to anyone who is thinking about upgrading – we are not all that computer literate, but did not experience any problems during installation. Everything now runs much faster and no crashes yet and this Windows version is better in so many ways.

Not much to say. Its Win7. This is the OEM version, which means it is tied to a motherboard. No big deal because if you ever rebuild your rig with a new mobo, you call Microsoft and tell them what you’re doing and they will issue a new key.This was delivered to my front porch via UPS within 2 days of ordering along with the rest of my computer components for a new build. keyforrest did a great job bundling the shipment to reduce shipping costs.Windows 7 64bit is a kabillion times better than the 32 Vista I was running. I’m really enjoying this new OS. Not to mention I can now use more than 4gb of RAM. Highly recommended.

If you are getting a computer get this otherwise do not bother with it. Its Windows 7 but it is only meant to install it on a new computer you can’t upgrade with this disc all you can do is install on a new system. I just build me a brand new Gaming computer and needed the software was fast easy and painless.
